ALECKSON WINS FORMULA FSCCA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP AT ROAD ATLANTA.
Road Atlanta, November 11, 2006:  Brandon Aleckson, 21, of Watsonville, CA captured the checkered flag today in the American
Road Race of Champions Formula SCCA National Championship race at the 2.54 mile Road Atlanta.  Aleckson was the unknown
underdog as he has not raced against any of the 21 starters during the season.  Brandon qualified number 2 behind Terrick Mansur,
of Oranjestad, Aruba, the SCCA SE Division FSCCA champion who most were betting would take home today's championship.  The
green flag was waved under threatening skies and the battle was on.  Aleckson rapidly took the lead from Mansur as the pair diced
around the track.  During the second lap both Mansur and Justin Huffman passed Aleckson.  A couple of laps later Aleckson
overtook Huffman and was again gaining ground on Mansur as both front drivers began to pull away from the rest of the pack.
During the course of the race both Mansur and Aleckson swapped leads several times and also traded new lap records.  Close to
the end Aleckson passed Mansur for the last time narrowly missing a lapped car that moved to the left as Aleckson was passing
both drivers going uphill from turn 5.  Aleckson managed to hold on to the lead as Mansur continued to try to find a way around him
and finally took the checkered flag just 0.441 seconds ahead of Mansur.  Aleckson was supported at the race by his father, Dan
Aleckson and Chuck Johnson of MLC Motorsports, LLC.  See the eformulacarnews.com writeup below.
